GearedforTrade does not believe in an open membership, but place a large dividend on relationship, because within relationship there is accountability as members speak into each other's lives. To facilitate this process we are implementing the concept op verification.
Verification has two components.
Commitment to the ethics of GearedforTrade
GearedforTrade does not have a code of conduct or a list of rules; because our understanding is that in Jesus Christ we have moved away from “the tree of knowledge of good and evil” as representing rules of right and wrong, to a place of relationship and fellowship with God and man. These relationships, if pursued with an understanding of its liberation and the establishing of individual callings, bring people into a position of righteousness that changes the way they do business.
The absence of a code of conduct requires individuals to walk in relationship with other members. Each prospective member needs to express his/her desire to be part of a body that is seeking the truths of God.
Accountability Partner
Each member of GearedforTrade is required to have an accountability partner.
This partner should:

be a current member of GearedforTrade,

not be directly involved with the proposed business,

have a definable relationship with the applicant.
The purpose of the accountability partner:

To verify the integrity of the proposed member in terms of business practices, quality of service and customer care.

To ensure that GearedforTrade is founded on relationships rather than rules.

Should a dispute arise around a member, it is initially referred to the accountability partner to resolve on the basis of their relationship.

The concept of partners provides extended links to like minded people and entities, outside of the immediate relationships of the founding members of GearedforTrade.
- Accountability partnership will minimize the exploitation of the GearedforTrade network by individuals and entities that do not share the same vision.
