Tree of knowledge of good and evil – Gen 2:9,17

This was one of the two trees in the garden at the creation of man. The fruit of this tree resulted in the death of your spirit, leaving man in a state where he has lost communication with God. It took the sacrifice of Jesus to reverse this curse.

The Old Testament, with the laws given by God, functioned under the principles of this tree. If you sin you must die. The practical implication of this is that our whole live is governed by rules of what is right and what is wrong.

The problem is that even those of us who accepted the salvation offered through Jesus, continue to operate on the principles of ‘right and wrong’ instead of relationship.

Jesus very clearly announced the end of a “right and wrong” approach when he introduced a personal relationship with the Father.

Rom 10:4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
Mat 22:37 -40 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

This role has been a point of discussion for ages and resulted in the withdrawal of many businesses from active involvement in the establishing of the Kingdom of God. Many have resorted in starting their own “ministry” division and initiatives.

Studying the book of Acts, the roll of business was as relevant as that of the apostle’s ministry of the Word of God. Businesses ran in tandem without controlling or manipulating each other. The absence of the business aspect leaves the ministry side in lack, often resulting in loss of focus as they compromise their calling to cover the void.

Business on the other side is avoiding the exploration of the past, but at the expense of the advance of the Kingdom of God.

GearedforTrade wants to create a bridge where the harmony of business and ministry can be restored as God intended it.

The last reformation, expected in the market place cannot materialize without the ministry and teaching as foundation.

Sprit of Elijah

The spirit of Elijah is essentially about fathering and in GearedforTrade the roll of fathers in business, mentoring a next generation of business men and women in the principals of Godly business. In this we want to teach and empower individuals to engage in fathering, as this is the foundation of God’s plan for the end time restoration.

This is in line with the principles of “FathersForAfrica”, a prophetic initiative launched in 2009 by ElijahAfrica.
